Garlic Mushrooms

Garlic mushrooms are the perfect appetiser or side dish for any favourite meal. It's a simple and easy to cook dish.

Garlic mushrooms tastes so good and this is one of the healthy dish, a nice combination, healthy and tasty. We normally cook garlic mushrooms in dinner and had them with salat or grilled vegetables. But you can have it anytime.

We preferred white mushrooms for this dish.

Once my husband and I went to Zakhynthos, a beautiful island in Greece, there we ordered this dish in a restaurant and we liked it a lot that we started cooking it at home. And every week we prepare and had this dish one or two times in dinner.

It requires not much time to cook. Can be done in 10-15 minutes.

You can also have this dish with bread.

  Recipe Servings: 4
  Cooking time: 12 Minutes


  • White Mushrooms - 500 grams
  • Garlic (finely chopped) – 2 - 3 cloves
  • Parsley (dried/freshly chopped) - 1 tbsp
  • Garlic Powder - 1/3 tsp (optional)
  • Chilli flakes - a pinch or as per taste
  • Salt to taste
  • Freshly ground Pepper to taste
  • Butter or Oil - 2 tbsp


  • Rinse properly the mushrooms with the cold water. Once the mushrooms are all clean, cut them into thin slices with a knife.

  • Peel the garlic and chop them finely. You can also use the garlic presser if you have it.

  • Heat butter or oil in a large skillet or a pan over a medium heat. Once oil gets hot, add chopped garlic into it. Sauté for a minute and stir in between.

  • Then add the thinly chopped mushrooms and cook them till all its water gets evaporated. Stir in between.

  • Now add salt and freshly ground black pepper, mushrooms will again leave water when you add salt, so cook till all the water gets evaporated.

  • Then add dried parsley and red chilli flakes and mix well. You may also use freshly chopped parsley. Cook for a minute.

  • Now add garlic powder and mix well. This step is optional. You can avoid garlic powder if you wish. But personally I like garlic powder in this dish.

  • Now turn off the flame.

  • Garlic Mushrooms are ready to eat.

  • Serve yummy garlic mushrooms and enjoy the dish with bread or salad .
